From snowmans to reindeers, to cute santa claus, there will be a project everyone can pick from.

So grab your craft supplies and put on some good old Christmas music and let’s have a look at the fun Christmas crafts!
1. paper plate santa

Source: The Best Ideas For Kids
Starting off with this cute Santa, and what an easy Santa he is to make! This will be great for any age kids and all you need is some cotton balls, paper and some glue. This googly-eyed Santa will be great to make whilst watching a movie about Santa, anything to create the Christmas vibes.
Get even more creative and let the kids make different colored hats for Santa by using different colored paper for the hat, patterned paper or even color in their own hats. The possibilities are endless.
2. Paper reindeer

Source: I Heart Crafty Things
Another paper plate idea but this time making a reindeer, we can’t have Santa without his reindeers! Make these as a duo and make a collection of reindeers for Santa. This reindeer is similar to Santa, however, paints would be needed to color in the face.
Use paints or even colored paper, pencils or pens, but what makes this reindeer for me is the creative tentacles! Just find some pipe cleaners and add them to the stickers to make these characteristic tentacles.
On this website, there is also a video tutorial to watch, great to put on for the kids and keep them engaged.
3. reindeer headband

Source: Simple Everyday Mom
This reindeer will be fun to make because the kids will have to ‘construct’ it and put it together ones all the pieces are cut. It’s a great way to harness their instruction following skills by putting together this reindeer by themselves.
Once constructed and on their heads, it allows them to be imaginative and ‘play reindeer’, giving them a creative outlet in more ways then one with this craft. This craft has a downloadable template to use for the construction of the reindeer.
4. handprint reindeer

Source: Non Toy Gifts
Another paper reindeer craft and a slightly different twist with this one! This one is all about the handprint for the tentacles, and what a creative way to add tentacles. Either print off the template for the hands, or draw around the kid’s hands.
Either way, adding tentacles for hands is a different way to create a reindeer. This allows kids to ‘think outside the box’ with their creativity, art is all about different expressions of self after all.
I love that this reindeer has almost a cartoon look to it and totally animated! It could be stuck onto the fridge or even added to the kid’s bedroom Christmas decor.
5. paper elf

Source: Best Ideas For Kids
We have to have a paper elf to add to the paper plate crafts! This elf is totally needed for Santa’s helper and so many different variations of this can be created to create make Santa’s helpers.
This simple craft just needs a paper plate and some colored card for the features, it can be create in a few simple steps. My favourite is the ears that make it look like an elf!
6. stocking craft

Source: Crafting Cheerfully
Moving on from the main characters of Christmas to this illustrated stocking. Print the template off for this stocking and let the kids get coloring!
All you need for this stocking is some colored pencils, a hole-punch and some thread. Help will be needed to create the holes in the stocking and put the thread through, however if you don’t have a hole-punch at hand, just let the kids color in the holes.
So many different stockings can be made from this temple and one for the whole family! Put the completed stockings up on your fire place for decoration, letting the whole family admire the artwork. This can be a cute keepsake for many years to come.
7. sweater craft

Source: Mom Brite
Everyone loves a good Christmas sweater, it brings in the festive spirit. What better way to get your kids in on the Christmas sweater spirit then them designing their own ones?
These printable templates allow the kids to bring out their inner designer and create their own sweaters. This could also be a fun Christmas activity for adults during a night in! Swap the embellishments with marker and you’ve got a party game right there 😉
8. Pinecone Christmas Tree

Source: Made To Be Momma
This project is one that might need a little more planning because this tree is made using a pinecone with some wood underneath it to old it in place, so not something that’s under the kitchen cupboard!
However, if you want to make this tree, the end result would definitely be worth it! This miniature tree would make a lovely decoration piece on the table or on a windowsill. I love the little balls added on the end of the leaves to give the Christmas lights affect!
9. Cotton ball penguin

Source: Mom Brite
This cotton penguin ball will be a good Christmas craft to make with the little ones, maybe pre-school age or even lower! This cute penguin doesn’t need much effort to make, and they will have a ball glueing down the cotton balls.
Print off the template by Mom Brite and make this little fella with your kids. Experiment a bit with different colored card and patterned paper, not all penguins have to be the traditional type!
10. Fork painted bear

Source: Glued To My Crafts Blog
Christmas crafts for kids just get even simpler! All you need is a bit of paint and a fork for the little one’s to make this cute bear! This bear will truly bring out the inner artist of the child because this type of art is so abstract and free.
Kids love to go crazy when it comes to painting and in this project in particular, they can surely go all out! This technique is good to use to create other characters and all different types of art. Using different things at hand, like a sponge can create a whole different affect all together.
11. Winter hat art

Source: One Little Project
This is another traditional ‘art technique’ used which artists might be familiar with, the ‘wax’ technique. White oil pastel or white crayon is used in this project instead of wax, to create patterns and lines on the hat template, then paint over it.
The ‘wax’ will resist the paints, leaving the beautiful pattern behind. This technique will keep your little ones intrigued and it’s almost like ‘magic’!
Use this technique on different templated and characters to create a whole array of beautiful Christmas art with your kids, mix and match different colored paints to get different looks, they will be impressed every time.
12. snowflake sun-catcher

Source: Kids Activity Zone
Creating snowflakes at Christmas time is a must, and this is a colorful twist on the traditional snowflake craft. All this needs is some colored tissue paper along with some colored card stock and the end results will be stunning.
There are so many possibilities with making snowflakes, all the different patterns created, but the kids will love this sun-catcher craft because of the extra step needed, adding colored tissue paper in between the card stock. Let them go wild on all the different colors they can use. Give them different color schemes to choose from or allow them to pick their own.
The end result will leave your windows filled with colorful snowflakes catching the sun!
13. Coffee filter wreath

Source: Darcy And Brian
This charming wreath craft is lovely to look at, it looks complicated to make but only needs a few supplies, like coffee filters and coloring crayons. The fun part for the kids will definitely be coloring the wreath in, and this is the most creative part of it.
The assembling part of the wreath, the kids will need help with however, there is always embellishments they can add at the end to give it some more jazz.
This can be a great craft to get them involved in decorations and get them enthusiastic about it.
14. Photo snowglobe

Source: Easy Peasy And Fun
Snowglobes always bring a magical feel to Christmas and are somewhat nostalgic. Make this photo snowglobe with the kids and add some magic to their Christmas.
Download the printable template on the Easy Peasy and Fun website and let the kids color in their snowglobe, add their own pictures to it and making it personalised. This can be a great keepsake or a gift they can make for a family member or even made into a card!

15. Yarn wrap snowman

Source: One Savvy Mom
If you have some extra yarn lying around then make this little guy with the little ones! This Christmas crafts for kids is a different type of craft which makes it unique.
This snowman is not a ‘quick’ snowman so it will teach the kids patience and let them enjoy the process! The end results will be a lovely textured snowman which they can play with or hang up for decorations.
What makes this snowman cute is the felt used for the scarf! It’s the little things!
16. Cardboard lace snowflakes

Source: Our Kids Things
A very different twist on the traditional snowflake! Make use of extra cardboard laying around and make these decorative snowflakes with the little ones to hang up.
Once an adult has created the hole punches in the cardboard, the rest is pretty easy for the kids to do. This can create many different styles of snowflakes. Add some paint and colors to the cardboard to jazz it up even more.
17. snowman thumb print

Source: A Dab Of Glue Will Do
Ending with this very artsy snowman, something to get the kids really stuck in! Hands on art is always a good motivator for kids, because they love getting messy!
This snowman just needs three circles cutting to use as a template for the snowman outline, and then the kids are really to go wild with the thumb painting. This would make a lovely art piece to frame for Christmas. Or create this on a folded piece of paper to make a Christmas card.
The colors don’t have to be blue in my opinion, but blue gives the ‘snow effect’.
