Starting off with this beautiful mixed media art journal page which is full of depth. It has many layers of collage, painting, stamping, and embroidery embellishment on. This is almost a junk journal style page with all the different elements and fabric pieces.

Bring some abstract flowers onto your art journal page and be inspired by this artist’s abstract flowers. Flowers don’t have to be linear as this art journal page shows, flow with whatever comes! The artist has used bits of collage to paint the flowers on-top of, giving it some layering and texture.

This art journal spread gives me a feeling of old and modern at the same time. Vintage paper has been used on one side of the spread, giving the art journal spread a traditional look. This can easily be achieved by the good old stained coffee technique and then writing on-top of it. On the other side, more modern style papers have been used to create a beautiful collage and splashes of paint.

A different style of art journaling which is really aesthetically pleasing. Almost like small art journal entries on one page. Sometimes filling an entire page can be daunting, this type of style can take away that feeling. Each small square can represent something different for you, whether that’s a feeling or a memory.

A very abstract and out-going spread with this one. It portrays so many different things on one page. Art journalling is such an expressive art form that simple collages can create such an impactful spread.

Delicate but bold vibes with this page as splatters of paint mixed with delicate drawings make it impactful. There is so much going on with this spread that it is truly a work of art. The colors go so well and create almost a harmony and the fluidity of the paint throughout the spread is breath-taking.

A not so pink art journal spread with this one and such a busy one at that. It looks like a map has been used for the base of the spread which is such an interesting concept. More scribbles, quotes and fabric pieces have been added to make the whole spread.

Collage, paint and stamping has been used to create this wonderful piece. Not much is needed to create such beautiful art spreads but intuition and imagination can go a long way!

Such a dreamy and whimsical spread with this one. The colors are such eye candy and the birds really stand out making it look different. ‘Be a dreamer’ is a very suitable quote for this spread as it represents just that!

This lovely spread has used pastels to create such a wonderful affect. Soft pastels are a lovely medium to use if you want your artwork to look ‘blended’ and also has a creamy texture. A lot of different looks can be achieved by adding different collage pieces on-top as seen above.

Be inspired by music and gold in with this page! A simple yet affective page with only a few splashes of paint and some gold pen. If you have spare pieces of newspaper or books, be sure to keep them for your art journaling pages.

A very mixed media art journal snippet with lots of stitching on-top of the painted pages. Adding stitching can be a very fun way to add more depth and texture to your page, you can even draw with a sewing machine right onto the page. This page is an abstract version of an ocean sunset as you can see from the blue paint used for the ocean and then the red sunset. There’s also the painted tree to the side which just finishes the scene.

This stunning page consists of fine art drawing style flowers on almost an animal print background. Who would have thought these two subject matters would work together?! It’s not to say it actually is animal print, but it can be interpreted however you see fit.

A very expressive journal page with different collage elements and paintings. I love this page because it seems to be done on brown or kraft paper. Kraft paper can give a very nice texture to a page with minimal effort.

Sometimes we don’t have to actually draw or paint anything in our art journal but we can express what is in our mind’s eye through collage pictures, which this art has done. This gives me very surrealism vibes and the artist has portrayed that well. Very colorful yet collage upon collage, and it still works well.

From surrealism art to very painterly abstract art. This is such a delicate and peaceful art page without any words but you can feel the energy the page is giving. The flowers are almost gestural and evoke a serene emotion.

This art journal has a mix of painterly elements and collage. What I love about looking at different art journal ideas is how every artist uses techniques differently. I love this page because of the colors used, a different combination of colors which work so well together.

This is a very classic style art journal page which when I often think of art journaling, something like this would come into my mind. A small journal with many layers of different mediums and collages, lots of color with hints of black.

Ending with this stunning art journal spread which has painted calico, collage and a great color combination. Painting on calico can be a good alternative to normal paper because it can give a fabric like feel however painting and drawing on it is much easier unlike regular fabrics.
This sums up our art journal ideas and what lovely art spreads they were! We hope you found these art journal pages as a source of inspiration for your own art journaling and give something new a go in your journal.
