This week I am sharing some very inspiring July bullet journal themes for starting off the month in your bullet journal! I know it is nearly mid-July, but we can still use some inspiration for next month, right??
Setting a monthly theme can be a good way to keep things interesting and provide a creative framework in your bullet journal journey. It isn’t necessary to keep that theme throughout the month, however setting a nice theme page can be therapeutic within itself and can track your mood and hobbies at that certain time of the year.
As you will see from the 25 themes that I have selected, they are all different and can represent each creative individually at a certain time in their life.
Summer and holiday themes might inspire one a lot at this time of the year, coupled with colourful colour schemes.
Why choose a theme?
A theme can be a great way to set a certain intention for that month or to attain specific goals. For example, a theme might be based around mindfulness, and this month can include a daily gratitude list or a meditation habit tracker. Maybe in the months before you were doodling more and in this mindfulness month you want to write down your thoughts more.
It’s also important to allow yourself not to be rigid with the themes and go with the flow, experiment with other elements and structures, that’s what bullet journaling is all about after all, a visual diary with no limitations.

This theme has a simplicity about it as well as being full but not over-bearing. It looks like collage has been used with kraft paper and watercolour painting on-top. The colour scheme is pretty limited that’s why it gives more of a simple feel.

This is another simple cover page, however it gives more of an aesthetic look because of the colours chosen. Colours can make a huge difference in any piece of art. These colours fresh and summer colours used correctly. I also like washi tape used to give some decoration.

Starting off a month with a meaningful quote is a great way to set intentions for the month going forward and use it as a source of inspiration to look back to throughout the month as a reminder. I love this colourful abstract layout. This stencil like effect can be created using masking fluid to write out the word first, then paint over it with some watercolour paints. After the masking fluid has dried, your stencil look will be complete!

This is an effective cover page using felt tips and fine liners to create the flowers and pattern. What I like about this is that t has muted tones and strong colours at the same time, which can sometimes be difficult to pull off.

This is a combination I never knew would work so well, subtle colours with a jungle theme. Usually we imagine jungle themes to have bold colours, yet this artist has pulled it off well with soft tones of blue and green, with a highlight of black outlines. Perfect!

July is definitely a season of flowers as many artists are using flowers for their theme pages. I love how they have used simple drawings with quotes. Black and white drawings can work so effortlessly.

Strawberries also seem to be a favourite for July. I love the colours in this theme page as well as the flowers added. Some artists have also put the month dates on their theme page as you can see with this cover page. This can be a great idea rather than having to have the month on every page of the journal and just to refer back to.

This may be a self-portrait but it is so cute! I love the quirkiness of the drawing with all the added details on the desk. If you are good at drawing, this idea would be a great one to use!
