We have an easy peasy snowman drawing tutorial for big and little hands!
This 10 step drawing tutorial is fun and can be used for many different projects. The best part is you don’t have to be an ‘artist’ to draw this cute snowman, all you need is a little curiosity and a pen and paper.
Even kids will be able to draw this for some fun doodling and card making for the festive season.
Let’s get drawing!
Step 1
This is step one — a simple, slightly wobbly circle to form the snowman’s head, and that’s exactly the level of perfect it needs to be.
Step 2
That jaunty curved line perched on top is the start of his hat brim, tilting his whole head into a bit of cheeky character already.
Step 3
Now the top hat’s taking proper shape, giving him that classic, slightly dapper snowman silhouette before a single feature’s even been drawn.
Step 4
That fringed scarf trailing off to the side is where he really starts feeling cosy, like he’s mid-way through wrapping up for a proper winter’s day.
Step 5
Wrapping the scarf right around his neck ties the whole look together, and suddenly he’s got real personality even without a face yet.
Step 6
That big rounded body settles in nicely below the scarf, and just like that, he’s finally looking like a proper, plump little snowman. Leave a little space to the right for his hand!
Step 7
That little mittened arm poking out is such a sweet touch, and now he’s practically ready to wave hello to whoever’s reading along.
Step 8
Mirroring that same curved twig-and-mitten shape on the second arm keeps the proportions balanced and gives the drawing a nice sense of symmetry.
Step 9
A curved carrot nose, two crescent eyes, a curled-line smile, and a pair of button dots pull the whole face and front together in just a few confident strokes.
Step 10
Filling in solid black for the hat, arms and buttons adds real contrast and weight to the linework, finishing the drawing off with a proper illustrated look.
And there you have it — your very own cheerful little snowman, ready for whatever winter project you have in mind!
As you can see, it really doesn’t take much more than a handful of simple shapes and a bit of patience to bring him to life, whether you’re drawing him freehand or following along step by step.
